Mindfulness for Health
& Wellbeing

I’m Stephanie, a mindfulness teacher specialising in mindfulness courses for stress and long-term health conditions.

I also offer Art & Mindfulness courses and mindful looking workshops.

I work with organisations, charities and individuals.

About

I teach Mindfulness for Health and Wellbeing, along with Art and Mindfulness courses and a variety of workshops at East Sussex College as part of their community programme.

Online classes are also available via Zoom, offering a supportive and accessible space to practise together.

I run retreats and workshops at a variety of venues including Berwick Church. We practice outside in nature and inside the church where the murals provide a unique focus for mindful looking.

I’m an accredited Breathworks mindfulness teacher and a registered member of BAMBA (the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches).

Breathworks programmes are based on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and adapted to support those living with chronic pain, illness, or stress.

My teaching is grounded in care, integrity, and a commitment to the BAMBA Good Practice Guidelines.

My Background

My own mindfulness practice has helped me to manage and live more freely with chronic pain and anxiety. Some years ago, I benefitted greatly from an 8-week mindfulness course at Maggies Cancer centre.

Inspired by my teacher there who imbued warmth, acceptance and kindness in her teaching and relationships, I trained to teach with Breathworks.

How I teach is informed by my own mindfulness and Buddhist practice, and by my ongoing development as a teacher and practitioner.

Mindfulness & More

Connecting to Nature – I love to teach mindfulness outside in nature when possible. Being in nature in a contemplative way can really support our mindfulness practice, enlivening a sense of wonder and awe and bringing us to our senses.

Mindful movement – This is a form of moving meditation with the breath as our guide. The Breathworks Mindful Movements have been specifically designed to accommodate and gently work with the limitations and experience of chronic pain. However, most people who do not have restricted movement also find the movements in the programme very beneficial.

It has become an important part of my own practice, a way of becoming more aware of and receptive to the needs of my body.
