Mindfulness for Health
& Wellbeing

I’m Stephanie, a mindfulness teacher specialising in mindfulness courses for stress and long-term health conditions.

I also offer Art & Mindfulness courses and mindful looking workshops.

I work with organisations, charities and individuals.

About

I teach Mindfulness for Stress and Art and Mindfulness courses at East Sussex College as part of their community programme.

I work with Open Age where I teach an online drop-in class for adults over 50s.

Recently I’ve facilitated Mindfulness workshops at Berwick Church, exploring looking mindfully at the murals painted by The Bloomsbury Group artists and enjoying the beauty and quiet of the place.

I am an accredited Breathworks mindfulness trainer and registered with BAMBA.

Breathworks programmes are a development of Mindfulness-Based-Stress Reduction (MBSR) adapted to suit the needs of those with chronic pain, illness, or stress and founded on practice-based research.

I’m committed to adhering to the BAMBA Good Practice Guidelines for mindfulness teachers.

My Background

My own mindfulness practice has helped me to manage and live more freely with chronic pain and anxiety. Some years ago, I benefitted greatly from an 8-week mindfulness course at Maggies Cancer centre.

Inspired by my teacher there who imbued warmth, acceptance and kindness in her teaching and relationships, I trained to teach with Breathworks.

How I teach is informed by my own mindfulness and Buddhist practice, and by my ongoing development as a teacher and practitioner.

Mindfulness & More

Connecting to Nature – I love to teach mindfulness outside in nature when possible. Being in nature in a contemplative way can really support our mindfulness practice, enlivening a sense of wonder and awe and bringing us to our senses.

Mindful movement – This is a form of moving meditation with the breath as our guide. The Breathworks Mindful Movements have been specifically designed to accommodate and gently work with the limitations and experience of chronic pain. However, most people who do not have restricted movement also find the movements in the programme very beneficial.

It has become an important part of my own practice, a way of becoming more aware of and receptive to the needs of my body.

Teaching & Courses

My courses are suitable for organisations, charities, groups, and individuals. They can be tailored to meet your requirements.

Mindfulness for Health

This course provides you with a wide range of mindfulness skills to ease the suffering associated with persistent pain, fatigue and ill health.

The course is based on the work of Vidyamala Burch, co-author of Mindfulness for Health, and founder of Breathworks

Mindfulness for Stress

This course is ideal for anyone experiencing stress in their life, whether it is due to work, relationships or loss, or any other factor outside your control. It is also suitable for people who wish to learn strategies to overcoming limited patterns and cope with the everyday difficulties and pace of modern life.

Art and Mindfulness

Exploring the intersections between mindfulness and creativity. Finding support in being aware of the whole of our experience in the art making process. Classes include drawing, painting and some mindfulness practice.
